Meet Demetra Arvanitis

Demetra’s love for fashion began the moment she saw Linda Evangelista in the iconic Chanel Fall 1991 campaign gracing the pages of Vogue. It was the era of Claudia Schiffer for Guess Jeans, Kate Moss defining heroin chic, and a time when drinking Evian was considered the height of sophistication. The early ‘90s were a celebration of luxury, glamour, and excess—and 1992 marked Gianni Versace’s most legendary year. 

Growing up in Canada in the 90's, Demetra spent her Saturday mornings glued to Jeanne Beker on Fashion Television, captivated by the latest runway shows. Meanwhile, Suzanne Boyd was reshaping the industry as the editor of Flare—Canada’s very own Vogue. It was an exciting time in fashion, and these influences helped shape Demetra's early admiration for the artistry and craftsmanship behind design. From haute couture to streetwear, Demetra has always been fascinated by fashion’s ability to express personality and individuality.

Within the past few years, Demetra’s passion for fashion evolved into a love for discovering great pieces, always on the lookout for the next find. From flipping through the pages of Vogue to spotting trends in the streets of Paris and Milan, Demetra developed a sharp eye for fashion—always drawn to pieces that tell a story.

Now based in Chicago, Illinois, Demetra has expanded her career in fashion. She has curated a luxury consignment store and sells designer pieces both online and through private appointments. Demetra also serves as a board member of Fashion Group International (FGI), where she plans and organizes fashion events around the city.  Most memorably, she recently styled her first runway show for an FGI event.

Beyond curation and styling, Demetra is also a writer and blogger, sharing insights on fashion, consignment, and style through her work. One of her biggest career highlights to date was attending the Versace SS25 show in Milan—a full-circle moment for someone who grew up idolizing Gianni’s work.

Today, Demetra continues to build on her passion for fashion, using her platform to share her insights, experiences, and carefully curated pieces with a growing audience.
